Our quarterly newsletter provides an update on developments in the industry in the different states and overseas countries. Your Sheep, Camelid and Goat Veterinarians member publication includes articles and information on sheep, camelid and goat health, welfare and production, and advice on meeting within Australia and overseas. It also provides abstracts on recent articles relating to sheep, camelids, and goats that may be of interest to members.
The Sheep, Camelid and Goat organises programs for sheep, camelid and goat veterinarians at the Annual Conference of the AVA as well as stand-alone conferences on issues relating to sheep, camelid and goat veterinarians. Sheep, Camelid and Goat Veterinarians members receive discounted rates to all Sheep, Camelid and Goat continuing education events.
The Sheep, Camelid and Goat Veterinarians is actively involved in the Policy Council of the AVA, providing advice on policy issues relating to the sheep, camelid and goat industries e.g. mulesing of sheep, live animal export.
We have access to the key people within the industry when issues that affect our members arise.
Membership of the Sheep, Camelid and Goat Veterinarians provides access to experienced veterinarians within the sheep, camelid and goat industries to share ideas and discuss problem cases. It provides an opportunity for new graduates with an interest in these species to meet with colleagues who have had a lot of experience in the industry and who can provide advice on what to do to develop expertise.
A great tool available to members is the member-exclusive SCGVList - a discussion group of fellow members and peers within the industry.
