2014 AVA Awards – call for nominations
Each year the AVA calls for nominations to recognise those who contribute to and serve the veterinary profession or the Association. Nominations are now open for the following prizes and awards.
The Gilruth Prize
This is the AVA’s most prestigious award for outstanding service by a member or a non-member to veterinary science in Australia. Nominees who were unsuccessful from the previous two years are automatically included.
The Kesteven Medal
Issued jointly with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, the Kesteven Medal is awarded to members for distinguished contributions to international veterinary science through technical and scientific assistance to developing countries. Nominees who were unsuccessful from the previous two years are automatically included.
Awarded to members for outstanding service to the Association.
Meritorious Service Awards
The Award may be made to members who have rendered meritorious service to the Association, divisions, branches or special interest groups; secondly to persons who are not eligible for membership of the Association but who have clearly provided meritorious service to the AVA.
Awarded to eminent non-veterinarians for services to the AVA or the veterinary profession.
Submissions in support of nominations for the latest round of awards should be made in writing to the CEO at AVA National Office or via your division or special interest group if applicable. All submissions must be received no later than Friday 22 November 2013.
